retailer was Canadian Appliance Source in Nepean. They're OK. Can't recall how they ended up paying for the extended warranty. In many cases, the effort required to claim a repair and get it executed isn't worth the trouble.

Next appliance will probably come from Costco, who are great at squeezing extended warranties out of vendors, and are also great at handling the claims process for their members.

Hunting an extended warranty repair on the #Samsung dishwasher.

So far they've been OK, and agreed to dispatch the claim to my preferred repair service, who've already been here (G & D Applicance Repair in #Ottawa)

Dishwasher is 3y 3m old, a DW80R9950US, paid just under $1400 for it. Motor assembly that moves the waterwall is toast, $400 repair.

The retailer threw in $294 for the extended warranty. I don't think I've had an appliance make it to the end of extended warranty without a repair.

Some pals on Threads told me I need to get myself on Mastodon, because it's where the independent music scene is thriving!
