For the last eight months, researchers from the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory have been scouring the nation for information about who installed distributed wind energy projects.

Distributed wind projects received around $12.4 million in funding from state incentives, federal incentives, tax credits and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's USDA's Rural Energy for America Program in 2023.

In 2023, 16 states added 10.5 MW from 1,999 turbines

The Potomac is the only source of drinking water for homes and businesses in the District, which is served by D.C. Water, and Arlington County. Most of the D.C. suburbs in Virginia and Maryland also rely heavily on the river.

On the first day without water from the Potomac, the region would lose about $146.9 million, according to this report. Those losses would snowball as time passes, getting worse as businesses shutter and people lose jobs.

@ai6yr @alienghic @andybrwn
The mistake that y'all are making is saying that us environmentalists that recognize the dire need to reduce the concentration of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere are doing the bidding of the fossil fuel industry.

Your statement about Direct Air Capture of carbon dioxide clearly demonstrates that you do not know what you are talking about and have succumbed to Dunning Kruger in order to push an agenda.

I get a lot of gruff for trying to defend Direct Air Capture of carbon dioxide from people that are aware of global warming, but do not understand what actually causes it and how desperately necessary it is to address it.

There are tons of academic treatises on what the risk of keeping global temperatures elevated for too long as well as on Direct Air Capture technologies that are sustainable, but as part of the fossil fuel industries efforts to demonize all climate action it's being demonized.
