In NW-Europe, winters can get much colder than before, as the cooling from a weakening ocean circulation may exceed the warming from global warming. So let's not base the insulation of our homes, and choose our heating systems and the energy networks to supply them, on the winters of today (or even worse: on the assumption that winters will be milder in future). In the climate chaos that we're causing, our choices need to be more resilient, unfortunately.
